At the citizens' meeting in Lenggries at the end of April, a whole raft of questions came up.

The questions from Alois Leichmann senior dealt with the topic of road safety in and around Wegscheid.

in the citizens' meeting (we reported).

The municipal council passed a number of resolutions on Monday.

Lenggries – The committee liked the idea of widening the hiking trail on the west side of the Isar between the Isar Bridge and Wegscheid and making it usable for cyclists as well.

"We will definitely continue to pursue this," said Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher (FWG).

Difficult to widen the hiking trail between the Isar Bridge and Wegscheid

Whether the idea can be implemented is questionable.

The path lies in the FFH and landscape protection area.

At one point there are also biotope areas, said City Hall manager Tobias Riesch.

"Broadening is difficult." The Weilheim Water Management Office - it is the landowner - even sees the problem that an expansion could have an impact on the bank structures.

FWG parliamentary group leader Günter Haubner intervened here.

There are efforts to renature the Isar.

At Bibermühle, for example, the obstruction was removed, and the hiking and cycling trail was relocated "in a murder bypass".

Perhaps something similar is planned for the Wegscheid section.

"Then maybe we could talk about whether a wider path could be laid out here too."

Expansion of the path should be examined

Nadia Tretter (Greens) asked whether there are minimum widths if you want to open a path for pedestrians and cyclists.

Yes, there are DIN specifications, Riesch replied.

“In any case, we can't release him now.

It would have to be a bit wider for that,” added Klaffenbacher.

Well, said Sabine Gerg (SPD), "there are enough cyclists on the way..." But that was also due to the misleading signage, interjected Daniela Werner (Greens).

There is a pedestrian sign there, but directly below it is a sign with a bicycle and an arrow.

"We have to look at that again," said Klaffenbacher.

In any case, the expansion of the path should be examined together with nature conservation and the water management office, the municipal council decided.

Landowners should be contacted for sidewalks between Wegscheid and Ahornau

The municipality will also approach landowners in order to be able to create a footpath between the end of Wegscheid and the entrance to Ahornau.

The piece is only short, but theoretically you can drive 100 km/h there, and there are bus stops in the section, Riesch explained.

Leichmann's suggestion for a sidewalk "is very welcome," said Klaffenbacher.

“The children have to walk on the street there.

We will therefore contact the landowners.” Benedikt Demmel (CSU) also welcomes this – especially since there is no lighting on the short stretch.

"You can see the children late in the dark."

Discussion about possible speed limit

Roman Haehl (Greens) also likes the sidewalk, but didn't want to give up completely on the proposed speed limit of 70 or 50 km/h.

Unlike the traffic commission, he sees a particular danger from the pedestrians who are out and about there, even if there have not (yet) been any accumulations of accidents there.

He advocated checking with the Tölz district office again and making it clear that "we really, really want a speed reduction".

However, Haehl's proposal was not part of the decision.

Municipality also considers Leichmann's remaining requests

The municipality is also active in the two other inquiries from Leichmann.

Bayernwerk is asked what it would cost to convert the street lighting to LED.

The state building authority in Weilheim is informed that it has to repair the sidewalk or the green strip in Wegscheid.

All decisions were unanimous.
