Mong Kok suspects child abuse.
At about 10 p.m. today (22nd), the police received a report from a man who alleged that his wife used a charging cable to beat her at her residence at 60 Bute Street.
When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found an 8-year-old boy with bruises on his head and hands. He was accompanied by his father and sent to Guanghua Hospital for treatment.
It is understood that the boy's mother, surnamed Xu (39 years old), was furious earlier due to problems with discipline and homework, during which she was extremely angry with the charging cable of her mobile phone.
The police arrested Mrs. Xu on suspicion of "abuse or neglect of children or young persons in her custody" and handed it over to the Mong Kok District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up.
The boy's mother was arrested for child abuse.
