In Heinsberg, the net on Karl-Arnold-Strasse burned on Sunday.
The roof of the supermarket was on fire.
The firefighting operation lasted several hours.
Update from May 22, 6:27 p.m .:
The fire brigade operation on the net on Karl-Arnold-Strasse in Heinsberg lasted several hours.
Shortly after 10 a.m., the fire brigade was alerted that the roof of the supermarket was on fire.
"Several hours were deleted," said a spokesman for the fire brigade when asked by 24RHEIN.
The fire was only fought at 3 a.m., because embers kept forming in the roof, reports 24RHEIN.
Even now, firefighters are still on site and are keeping a fire watch.
The fire brigade keeps an eye on the location of the fire even after the actual extinguishing and the completion of the post-extinguishing work so that they can intervene quickly if the fire flares up again.

Heinsberg – fire brigade operation on Sunday morning (May 22nd) at the Netto in Heinsberg: "Currently, extinguishing work is being carried out at the Netto market on Karl-Arnold-Straße in Heinsberg due to a fire," said the Heinsberg police in one Facebook post.
"Windows and doors should remain closed, especially in the area of Schafhausen," the warning goes on.

The Heinsberg fire brigade was alerted at 10:06 am.
"The roof was on fire," says a fire department spokesman when asked by 24RHEIN.
The operation at the supermarket is currently still ongoing.
Although the fire itself has been extinguished, there are still embers in the roof structure.
Two turntable ladders are currently in use, the fire department spokesman continued.

"For the time of the extinguishing work, Karl-Arnold-Straße between Industriestraße and Industrieparkstraße will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic," said the police.
Pedestrian traffic on Kuhlertstrasse will also be closed.
