Valley/Holzkirchen – The Holzkirchen motorway police station is dealing with a dangerous fun between Oberlaindern and Mitterdarching and an accident on the A8.

On Saturday evening (May 21), around 6:30 p.m., an officer from the Holzkirchen motorway police station was amazed on a civilian motorcycle.

"Between Oberlaindern and Mitterdarching, a Chevrolet with a hair-raising crew came towards him," the police said.

"Two ten-year-old children were hanging out of the side windows of the back seat with their entire upper bodies up to their navels, completely unsecured."

After being stopped, the 53-year-old driver from the Miesbach district said he just wanted to have fun with the kids.

“However, children are never allowed

without the appropriate child seat, incorrectly or not at all secured in the car," emphasizes the police.

"Not just for a short time or as an exception."

This irresponsibility could result in serious or even fatal injuries.

Even at low speeds, a child has little chance of an accident.

"The Chevrolet driver now has to reckon with a fine of 70 euros and a point in Flensburg and hopefully now reconsiders his idea of fun," summed up the police.

Accident at the construction site on the A8

Also on Saturday (May 21), an accident occurred on the A8 motorway in the direction of Salzburg shortly before the Holzkirchen junction, in which the 63-year-old who caused it was slightly injured.

"The Honda driver from Schleswig-Holstein drove in the left of three lanes," reports the Holzkirchen motorway police station.

"Traffic was backed up because of the lane narrowing, which is currently necessary due to the construction work at the Holzkirchen junction."

About a kilometer before the Holzkirchen exit, a truck from the construction company with a traffic safety trailer was parked in the left lane to protect the work site on the roadway from the flow of traffic.

The narrowed lane had already been announced several times by traffic signs.

Nevertheless: "For reasons that have not yet been clarified, the Honda driver drove onto the safety trailer," explains the police.

This is now determining the cause.

There was no one in the parked truck at the time of the accident. The Honda driver suffered minor injuries in the impact and was taken to a nearby hospital by the ambulance service.

There was total damage of around 25,000 euros.

In addition to the police, the Otterfing fire brigade and the Holzkirchen motorway maintenance department were on site to provide assistance and secure the accident site.
