They grew up with 132 other dogs on a property in Bavaria and were left to their own devices: Django and Terry have been looking for a home for years.

Amberg-Sulzbach – It must have been a terrible picture when animal rights activists discovered numerous neglected dogs on a property in Königsmoos in 2018.

There were 134 animals in all.

Three of the dogs came to the Amberg animal shelter.

Since then, the two Labrador crossbreeds Django and Terry are still waiting for a new home.

The bad attitude in Königsmoos has shaped the males and you need a lot of patience with them.

The dogs were "pretty much left to themselves" on the property.

"They never had their own bowl, never their own basket and they don't know collar and leash," write the animal rights activists in their mediation appeal.

Contact with people was minimal.

"Simply not enough to properly socialize the dogs."

For the dogs you have to bring a lot of time and patience.

It takes a while before they can really get involved with people.

The males only know living together with many other dogs.

Being alone is therefore a foreign word.

Unfortunately, the two are not housebroken either.

However, they now keep their "inside kennels" relatively clean and do their business in the outside kennels, according to the shelter.

The two dogs grew up poorly and are very shy.

Django is very shy, Terry very skeptical

"Django is very shy and likes to hide behind his dog buddies." Terry, on the other hand, is very skeptical.

On a good day he dares to come closer and steals the treat out of his hand.

On bad ones he tends to keep his distance.

"The males should either move to their new family in pairs or to a sovereign first dog," says the animal shelter.

So that they are never alone.

Anyone interested in getting to know the two can contact the animal shelter by email: hallo@tierheim-amberg.de.
