Silo bale falls on farmer: seriously injured

A serious industrial accident occurred on an agricultural property in Neufarn (Municipality of Vaterstetten).
A bale of silo fell on a farmer.
he was badly injured.
Neufarn/Vaterstetten - As reported by the police, the farmer was busy with his unskilled worker in a mobile silo on Friday, May 20th.
The laborer used a front loader with a bale grab to pick up the silage bales stored there while the farmer cleaned the area below.
Towards the end of the work at around 5:30 p.m., one of the bales came loose from the clamp at a height of around one meter and fell on the farmer.
Suffered an open thigh fracture
He sustained an open fracture of his left thigh.
According to the police, the 60-year-old farmer was still accessible and was taken to a clinic after emergency medical treatment.
Investigations into the course of the accident gave no indication of third-party fault or technical failure, according to the police report.
