The branch of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication in As-Suwayda has begun to open the subscription for farmers to purchase potato seed for the local varieties of the autumn harvest for the next season.
The director of the Foundation's branch, Engineer Solaf Al-Saad, stated in a statement to SANA reporter today that the subscription continues until the sixteenth of the next month and is carried out in accordance with the agricultural license and requires the payment of a subscription deposit of 500 thousand pounds per ton to be paid in cash.
Al-Saad clarified that the seeds, which are open for subscription, are the product of the national project to multiply the seed potatoes of the Elite rank.
During the current season, the branch of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication in As-Suwayda developed a plan to produce about 150 tons of potato seed planted within net houses.
