Trees get in the way of Maibaum

After a five-year break, a maypole has been put up again in Türkenfeld.

In the meantime there were problems: The weather vane got caught in some branches of the cemetery trees.

- At the end there was applause for every meter that the new Türkenfeld maypole moved towards the sky.

Under the eyes of numerous spectators, members of the fire brigade and other helpers joined forces to set up a new traditional stick for the first time in five years.

In the course of the renovation of the Bahnhofstraße, the tree was given a new location on the Drexlhof, not far from the freshly planted village tree.

There were exciting moments when the weather vane on the white and blue painted, more than 30 meter high trunk threatened to get caught in the branches of the trees in the cemetery.

A few branches tore off, then the maypole had passed the critical point.

The trunk weighed a little less than usual, as it was felled in early 2021 and had dried out for over a year.
