District – In its April meeting, the city council voted 15:5 in favor of relocating the fountain on Marienplatz.

The two representatives of the Wolfratshauser list, Helmut Forster and Richard Kugler, voted against it.

At the time, Manfred Fleischer was absent due to illness and at the most recent general meeting of the Wolfratshauser list in the “Zum Löwenbräu” restaurant he called for a referendum.

"We have a magnificent ensemble that we should preserve," demanded Fleischer.

His parliamentary group colleagues Richard Kugler and Helmut Forster also clearly rejected the plan to move the Marienbrunnen about five meters forward in the direction of Marktstrasse.

"The transfer is not responsible, also because the two plane trees would be injured in the root area and the high costs are not responsible," explained Forster.

Money for clubs instead of the Marienbrunnen in Wolfratshausen

The former mayor pointed out that many clubs could be supported with the required sum of 200,000 euros.

"We would then no longer have to talk about the cancellation of grants," Forster regretted.

Richard Kugler recalled a conversation with a stonemason who advised against a transfer.

"This would damage significant parts of the fountain," Kugler quoted him as saying.

Because the city councilors of the Wolfratshauser list are repeatedly confirmed on the street in their opinion that the old town ensemble should be preserved, they see good chances of getting the matter through in a referendum.

Well relocation "cardinal rubbish"

"We should give the Wolfratshausen residents the opportunity to vote on this story," Fleischer demanded.

He called the well relocation a "cardinal nonsense" and "an unbelievable waste of money".

In his annual report, Chairman Helmut Forster urgently warned against putting even more strain on the already strained Wolfratshausen budget.

Above all, he is worried about the imminent explosion in costs for the new building and the renovation of the hammersmith school.

"In a few years we will probably end up with over 60 million euros," he fears.

Election: Chairman Helmut Forster confirmed unanimously

There was far less need for discussion in the swiftly conducted board elections.

The 14 members who attended unanimously confirmed the position of Chairman Helmut Forster.

He is supported by his two deputies, Manfred Fleischer and Richard Kugler, as well as treasurer Sibylle Steckermaier and secretary Swantje Suthmann.

Christian Steeb remains cash auditor.
