25 Years After Returning | LCSD 7.1 Free Recreational Facilities Including Badminton Courts, Swimming Pools

In the 25 years since the handover of Hong Kong, the LCSD has spent about 300 million yuan to organize various activities.

Among them, the department plans to open a variety of recreational facilities under its charge on July 1, including badminton courts, billiard rooms, water facilities, etc., free for the public to use.

In addition, the LCSD also held a large-scale exhibition of "Eight Greats - Finding Dragons" at the Science Museum on July 8. The fossils of eight dinosaurs were exhibited for the first time in Hong Kong. The integrity of the dinosaur fossils was as high as 50%.

Parents can also bring their children to participate in the "Sleeping with the Dragon Activity" to stay overnight in the Science Museum.

The public can use most indoor and outdoor recreational facilities free of charge on July 1, and the facilities of public swimming pools and water sports centres, including boats, are exempted from rental fees.

Members of the public can make reservations through the "Leisure Link" online system or in person at the reservation counter 7 days in advance.

In addition, the Hong Kong Science Museum will hold a large-scale exhibition "Eighth Great - The Story of the Dragon" from July 8 to November 16 this year.

At that time, precious fossil specimens of eight dinosaurs will be exhibited, as well as a multimedia interactive experience, so that the audience can understand the significance and enlightenment of prehistoric creatures and dinosaurs that existed hundreds of millions of years ago to human beings.

To tie in with the large-scale exhibition, the LCSD also organises a wide range of educational and public activities, including the "Sleep with the Dragon", where citizens stay overnight at the Science Museum.
