Tokyo-Sana
An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted the southeast of the Japanese prefecture of Shizunei Furukawacho today.
The US Geological Survey stated that the quake, which struck at a depth of 30.32 km, was monitored at 41.2572 degrees north latitude and 143,0619 degrees east longitude, noting that no injuries or damages were reported.
Japan is constantly witnessing earthquakes and tremors because of its location within the Ring of Fire region, known for its volcanic activity and earthquakes.
