A fatal car accident occurred on Ferry Street in Mong Kok yesterday (23rd). A woman surnamed Leung (67 years old) was suspected of abandoning the footbridge and crossing multiple traffic lanes when she was hit by a taxi. She was sent to hospital and died after being rescued.
The cam footage of the car at the moment of the incident was exposed. It can be seen that a woman was running across the road on Ferry Street near Dundas Street. When she was in the middle of the road near the separation stone, a taxi pulled up and could not stop and shake the name. The woman, she was immediately thrown into the air, rolled 360 degrees in the air for several laps, and then fell to the ground. She lay on the road and did not respond. The taxi stopped immediately.

Police said the deceased's surname was Liang (67).
The incident happened at 6:01 p.m., a taxi driven by a man surnamed Chen (61) was heading towards Hung Hom along Ferry Street.
When driving near Tak Cheong Street, she hit Mrs. Liang. She was seriously injured in multiple parts of her body and was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital in a coma. She was confirmed dead at 6:46 in the evening.
The taxi driver surnamed Chen and a 33-year-old female passenger in the car were injured and were sent to Guanghua Hospital for treatment. Chen was arrested on suspicion of "dangerous driving causing death of another" and is being detained.
The case was handed over to the Special Investigation Team of Traffic Kowloon West for follow-up. Police appeal to anyone who witnessed the accident or has information to contact the investigators at 3661 9000 or 3661 9023.
