The dust storm that is being exposed to Deir Ezzor Governorate returned to activity for the second day in a row, and the intensity of the dust-laden winds increased, which caused blurring of vision and the occurrence of some cases of shortness of breath in asthma patients.
A member of the Executive Office of Deir ez-Zor Governorate Rabie Al-Arfi confirmed in a statement to SANA reporter that two days ago, the governorate put all emergency teams and health cadres on a state of maximum alert in anticipation of any emergency that might occur during the storm. Ambulances belonging to the Ministry of Health, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, firefighting teams and civil defense were deployed on A number of hubs within the city.
For his part, the Director of Deir ez-Zor Health, Dr. Bashar Al-Shuaibi, stated that the directorate has raised the readiness of its hospitals and medical points and has secured oxygen cylinders, medicines and items to receive ambulance cases for asthma patients that are increasing in this atmosphere, in addition to raising the readiness of the ambulance departments to receive cases of fractures or accidents that may cause them. storm.
Al-Shuaibi called on citizens in general, especially asthma patients, not to go out in this atmosphere except for necessity and to use masks until the intensity of the dust storm decreases in order to preserve their health.
