At the open day, visitors to the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg can be closer than ever before.

Hamburg - Where does the light come from at the concert?

What does an organ actually look like from the inside?

And where do the artists go during the break?

These and other questions will be answered at the Elbphilharmonie's open day.

Strictly speaking, there are even two days during which interested parties can get to know the Hamburg landmark in detail, which only celebrated its fifth birthday at the beginning of the year.

The date and program are set: On June 18 and 19, 2022, the foyers and concert halls will be open, guided short tours and specially designed demonstrations will also offer insights into stage technology, backstage and administrative areas, said the Elbphilharmonie, which will also decorate euro coins from 2023 target.

Tickets are already available, reports 24hamburg.de.

Tickets for independent discovery tours of the venue on the Elbe can now be booked for EUR 5.00 on the Elbphilharmonie website.

Combination tickets that include additional visits to The Westin Hamburg hotel, which occupies the upper floors of the building, or instrument workshops can also be booked.

The house expects you to stay in the building for around 120 minutes if you take part in a guided tour on June 18th and 19th, 2022.

Affectionately called Elphi, Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie has quickly become the new landmark of the Hanseatic city.

On June 18th and 19th, the concert hall will be open to interested parties as part of the open day.

Participation in the short tours through the backstage areas is then possible on site without prior registration, subject to availability.

Information stations and expert guides are available at numerous locations in the Hamburg landmark.

And of course music should not be neglected in a concert hall either: on three stages, visitors can expect a varied music program on the two days.

The Konzerthaus gastronomy is also open.

Elbphilharmonie Hamburg: Recently, a spectacular drone show caused a stir

The installation by Dutch artists DRIFT lets hundreds of drones dance around the Elbphilharmonie, creating waves of light.

The work of art is called “Breaking Waves” and can be seen until May 1st, 2022.

Most recently, the Konzerthaus, together with the artist duo The Drift, caused a sensation with a spectacular drone show.

After a drone crashed due to an alleged external attack on the first evening, the follow-up dates of the show had to be cancelled.
