Fire in an apartment in Rome, one dead

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 23 - A person died in the fire that broke out in the afternoon in an apartment in via AgostinoRichelmy, west of the capital, in the Aurelio district.

Eight fire brigade teams will be on the spot from 4.15pm.

The flames involved two floors of a building of six.

During the extinguishing operations, a person, probably bedridden, was found dead.

Some tenants were rescued with the ladder and put in a safe place.

Staff from 118, Italgas and Acea were also present, as well as the state police.
