Because of a sick master, the couple ended up in the Nuremberg animal shelter - since a new home was being sought for both of them together, the search lasted - now there was a happy ending.

Nuremberg – The Nuremberg animal shelter was looking for a new master or mistress for the two golden retrievers Josie and James on Facebook.

The search was followed by many users who had taken the sweet siblings to their hearts.

The Golden Retrievers from the animal shelter in Nuremberg: The demanding search for a new home

Finding a new home for the golden retriever couple hasn't been easy: Josie and James, 7.5 years old, have been together their whole life, so they shouldn't be expected to separate after they've both already owned their home had to leave.

A new owner should therefore adopt both dogs, and no cats should live in the new home.

Finally, a new owner was sought who should be present at home, because: The two siblings only stayed alone for a maximum of three hours and only with each other, it was said.

In addition, the hunting instinct of the dogs must be dealt with.

Shortly after the start of the search, the requirements were expanded again: it turned out that one of the siblings, James, was paralyzed on one side and relied on painkillers.

The paralysis is due to hip dysplasia, i.e. a malformation of the hip joint.

A new owner should therefore also be prepared to take care of the supply of painkillers.

Happy ending for James and Josie from the animal shelter in Nuremberg: a nice home with a child

Now a suitable new home has finally been found and the siblings were said goodbye to the animal shelter on Sunday (May 22nd).

A couple with a child seems to have decided on the two dogs.

A good match, the shelter's Facebook page said James and Josie, while they don't get along well with cats, are particularly fond of other dogs and children.

The new owners are also rewarded with other good qualities of the two: "Available" and "absolutely nice", that's how the dogs were described by Facebook users from Nuremberg who met the dogs at Nuremberg's dog parks.

"A dream couple," many agreed.

Now the Nuremberg animal shelter said goodbye to the two with a touching message: "We wish you all the luck in the world and thank your new family from the bottom of our hearts for giving you a chance," said the message from the transitional home to the cute dogs.

The search seems to have brought a happy ending for everyone.

A new pair of siblings is currently waiting for a successful placement at the Nuremberg animal shelter: the Siamese kittens Lila and Lali.
