The areas harvested from the wheat and barley crops since the beginning of the harvest season to date amounted to 306 hectares, 55 hectares of wheat and 251 hectares of barley.

The director of Homs Agriculture, Younis Hamdan, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the harvesting operations are continuing with the increase in the areas that can be harvested, as the harvest wages have been determined according to each crop, and the amount of one dunum of the irrigated wheat crop for wheat kernels is only 20 thousand pounds, and for grains with straw 30 thousand pounds, while The fare for harvesting one dunum of the rainfed wheat crop for wheat kernels was set at 15,000 SYP, and for grains with straw at 25,000 SYP, and the fare for harvesting one acre of wheat kernels was set at 12,000 SYP.

It is noteworthy that the initial estimates of wheat production in Homs amounted to 69,645 tons, out of a harvestable area of ​​24,462 hectares, bearing in mind that the area planted with irrigated and rainfed wheat in all Homs regions amounted to 34,483 hectares.
