While other fire brigades complain about a loss of members, the Herrschinger even grew during the pandemic.

There were a number of honors and promotions at the general meeting.

Herrsching - "Today it's about getting together," said Chairman Michael Polednik at the annual general meeting of the Herrsching fire department on Saturday evening.

The comrades have not been able to meet for a long time, which is why they looked back on two years, 2020 and 2021, at the meeting in the equipment house.

Just three weeks later, the board elected in 2020 saw itself “in the constraints of the lockdown,” said Polednik.

Young people in particular suffered from the corona restrictions.

But the fire department didn't let that get them down.

"What really impressed me was this team spirit," said Polednik.

While other fire brigades were struggling with a loss of members, the Herrschinger even grew.

In 2020, the club registered 14 entries and six exits.

In 2021 there were six entries and six exits.

The number of active members rose from 53 to 61.

Commander Daniel Pleyer regretted that two years could be practiced "differently or not at all".

Despite restrictions, the fire brigade has always tried to be able to hold exercises.

"There's no home office that helps," says Pleyer.

The commander particularly regretted the exercise-free time of the youth.

"You guys were hit hard.

Stay tuned," he said.

Youth warden Robert Schallner also knows this: "It's no fun in front of the camera, they want to tackle something." Schallner emphasized that the youth fire brigade lives from making experiences together.

The past few years have also been quieter than before when it comes to operations.

In 2020, the fire brigade counted 129 fewer calls than in the previous year, and in 2021 there were even fewer.

The team was mainly busy with logistical tasks, such as distributing disinfectants and masks.

In addition to everyday operations, a forest fire in Ried and a serious traffic accident in Wartaweil deserve special mention.

After a long discussion: New civil protection boat

The approval of a new civil protection multi-purpose boat for the Ammersee was celebrated.

Since 2016, the fire brigade has wanted a replacement for the 1986 model. After a long bureaucratic discussion, the application has finally been approved.

The emergency services hope to get the boat the year after next.

The municipality of Herrsching is participating with a subsidy of 30,000 euros.

In 2020 the roof terrace of the tool shed was renewed.

Under the motto "wood instead of gray concrete" and "blossoming diversity instead of cherry laurel", the youth worked with older members on flower troughs, parasols and planting.

The roof terrace should become a place for community activities to strengthen the cohesion of the team.

Promotions, appointments and honors were also on the agenda.

In 2020, Ludwig Darchinger jun., Felix Schiller and Niklas Horn were promoted to firefighters.

Pascal Weindl and Magnus Ziegler joined in 2021.

In 2020 Andreas Dauber jun.

promoted to chief firefighter.

Julian Keller and Ulrich Schwarz were promoted to fire chiefs in 2020 - like Andreas Dauber jun.

and David Lampl in 2021. Veronika Echtler and Robert Schallner received the title of chief extinguisher in 2021. Julian Keller has been a group leader since 2020, Andreas Dauber junior, David Lampl and Ulrich Schwarz have been allowed to call themselves that since 2021.

Robert Schallner has been a train driver for a year.
