Zoo Horror: A lion caretaker in Jamaica was documented being attacked by a lion that tore its finger after inserting its hand through a fence, stroking the large animal and teasing it.
The handler, a St. Elizabeth Zoo employee at the Caribbean island, guided a group of tourists to the place and while introducing them to one of the lions kept at the zoo he decided to pet the predator, in stark contrast to the animal's desire, which seemed annoyed.
After a few seconds of stroking and teasing, the lion attacks the palm of the guide standing next to his mouth and bites her hard.
"The therapist's facial expression has not changed at all, it looks like the pain has not yet been absorbed in him," said an eyewitness who spoke to the British "Daily Mail".
In a video documenting the incident, the critics are seen stunned while filming the incident, and do not fully understand that the therapist's tasteless joke has become an emergency.
Animal rights organizations in the state have criticized the caregiver's conduct, and the zoo has claimed that his behavior does not reflect the rules and treatment of the animals on the spot.
