Maya Sando, President of Moldova, sent an excited letter to the Jewish community in the country in which she thanked them for their activity in absorbing immigrants from Ukraine.

The letter is addressed to members of the Lubavitcher Chabad community, to the Chief Rabbi Rabbi Yosef Abelski and other Chabad emissaries in the country, as well as to the chairman of the Jewish community, Alexander Bilinkis

Sando wrote: "Thank you for the important work you have been doing in recent months to provide support to refugees in Ukraine who have fled the war in their country. I appreciate the dedication with which you give resources, time and energy to help these people - mostly elderly, children and women. , Treatment and openness, the refugees received a warm welcome in Moldova and a safe haven in our country. We showed everyone that we are indeed a small country but with a big heart. The exemplary mobilization and your organizational ability, together with our citizens, give hope. "A free, peaceful and prosperous society in which we all want to build our future," the president wrote to the rabbis.



She signed: "Thank you very much! Appreciation."

The letter was read by a representative of the Jewish community in the capital, Chisinau, during the Lag B'Omer events, in which hundreds of community members and refugees participated in Rabbi Mendel Axelrod's organization.
