Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Crimea Georgy Muradov announced that the Sea of Azov has become a joint sea between Russia and the Donetsk People's Republic.
Muradov, who also holds the position of permanent representative of the Republic of Crimea to the Russian head of state, according to RIA Novosti Agency, said: “The Russian special military operation allowed the Donetsk Republic to reach the city of Mariupol and liberate the southern part of the republic that was occupied by Ukrainian nationalists and thus secure access to the Sea of Azov, so it can be said This sea has become the joint use of Russia and the Donetsk Republic.”
He noted that after the liberation of Kherson province and the southern parts of Zaporozhye province from Ukrainian ultra-nationalists and after determining the status of these two regions, it is clear that the Kyiv authorities will lose access to the Sea of Azov.
State Duma member Mikhail Sheremet had said earlier that Ukraine, as a result of the Russian special operation, had lost access to the Sea of Azov, which frustrated NATO's plans to gain a foothold in the region by building military bases there.
