The head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin, revealed the refusal of most Latin American countries to bow to the demands of the US administration to join Western sanctions against Russia.

Today, TASS news agency quoted Naryshkin as saying: According to information received by our service, most Latin American countries show their unwillingness to unconditionally comply with the demands of the administration of US President Joe Biden to condemn the Russian special military operation in Ukraine and join Western sanctions against Russia.

Naryshkin believed that the US State Department realizes that Latin American leaders in the framework of bilateral contacts tend to avoid discussing this issue.

According to Russian intelligence, the US State Department is deeply afraid that further attempts to obtain support from Latin American countries for the US line on Ukraine will create obstacles to promoting Washington's interests in Latin America.
