The Israeli occupation forces arrested 1,228 Palestinians, most of them from the occupied city of Jerusalem, during the month of April.

The prisoners’ institutions (Detainees and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission, Palestinian Prisoner Club, Addameer Foundation and Wadi Hilweh Jerusalem Information Center) indicated in a report today, carried by Wafa Agency, that the occupation arrested 1,228 Palestinians, including 793 Jerusalemites, 165 children and 11 women, noting that this is the highest rate of arrests since the beginning of this year. .

The institutions indicated that, during the arrest campaigns, the occupation forces committed grave violations, as a number of prisoners were shot and some of them were critically injured, and their families' homes were vandalized or destroyed.

The institutions pointed out that the number of Palestinian prisoners in the occupation detention camps reached 4700 until the end of April, including 170 children and 32 female prisoners.
