RATP strike: bus and tram traffic still severely disrupted this Tuesday

2022-05-23T16:53:44.833Z

Bus and tram drivers, called to strike for 3 days in a row to protest against the reform of their working conditions,

The RATP had bet on a "slight improvement in traffic" for the 2nd day of the strike of the machinists who denounce the next modification of their working conditions.

She had to revise her estimates downwards, this Monday at the end of the afternoon.

The traffic forecasts for the day of Tuesday, communicated from 5 p.m., indeed report disruptions which could be as important as the day before on almost the entire "surface network" of Paris and the inner suburbs.

On the tram side, only lines T6 (Chatillon-Montrouge / Viroflay) and T7 (Portes de l'Essonne / Villejuif) should experience almost normal operation all day.

On the other hand, traffic will again be greatly reduced on all the other tram lines managed by the RATP.

Plan only one out of two trains on lines T1 (Asnières/Noisy-le-Sec), T2 (Pont-de-Bezons/Porte de Versailles), T5 (Garges/Marché de Saint-Denis) and T8 (Saint-Denis/ Epinay-Orgemont), with a frequency of 7 to 10 minutes depending on the case.

Watch out for off-peak hours!

While these traffic forecasts are valid all day for lines T2 and T8, this is not the case for lines T1 and T5 which will only be in service during morning rush hours (from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.) and in the evening (from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.).

During opening hours, these tram lines will run on their entire usual route.

A slightly different situation for the two branches of the Maréchaux tramway (T3a and T3b) which will also experience a drop in traffic - one train out of two during the morning and evening peaks - but only on part of their route.

Like this Monday, the T3a will only circulate from the Garigliano bridge to the Porte d'Italie.

The T3b will transport travelers from Porte de Vincennes to Porte de la Chapelle… but not beyond.

On the bus network side, the estimates are a little less precise.

But Monday evening, the RATP estimated that it would not be able to provide transport service all day Tuesday on at least 70 of the approximately 300 RATP bus lines affected by the next opening to competition.

Or about as many lines at a standstill as the day before.

The number of lines where traffic forecasts could not be established is greater than on the first day of the strike.

The strike notice filed by the various unions representing the machinists provides for a third day of walkout this Wednesday.

The underground networks of the RATP (metro and RER) are not concerned and operate normally.

All traffic forecasts can be found on the RATP.fr website.
