Separated since the beginning of the war: Selenskyj reunited with his wife – she describes the night of the Russian invasion

It is not an easy life that Olena Zelenska is currently leading at the side of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj through Russia's attack on Ukraine.

Russia's war of aggression tore many Ukrainian families apart.
So also that of the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj.
Kyiv – According to their own statements, Olena Selenska and their two children had not seen Volodymyr Selenskyj for two and a half months.
The country of the Ukrainian president has been at war since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 (all information on the Ukraine conflict at a glance).
For an interview on Ukrainian television, translated into English

Daily Mail , Zelenska and her husband celebrated a reunion in front of the camera.
Previously, there had apparently only been telephone contact between the two.
Because while the Ukrainian President is holding out in the capital Kyiv, his wife and their children, aged nine and 17, are in a place in the country that is not publicly known.

In the interview, Zelenska described the night when Russia attacked Ukraine: "I remember being woken up by strange noises outside, as probably everyone else did.
It was dark, almost night, and I saw that Volodymyr wasn't by my side."
I asked him what was going on and he said, 'It's started!'

She then went into the next room, where she found her husband: "He was already wearing a suit but no tie.
I asked him what was going on and he said, 'It's started!'” Then he left, and we had to wait a long time to see each other again.
"Fear and drowsiness" were the feelings that spread through her during the night, said the Ukrainian president's wife.

"No one will take my husband from me, not even the war!", Zelenska now declared at the side of her husband Volodymyr Zelenskyj.

"Our family was separated like any other Ukrainian family," the First Lady said.
Her husband lives for his work, she reported, and she hardly ever sees him.
