Following the normalization agreements between Israel and Morocco signed at the end of 2020, and in an attempt to strengthen business ties between the two countries, the organization Start-Up Nation Central, which promotes Israeli innovation in the world, initiated the Connect to Innovate conference, which began today (Monday).

As part of the conference to strengthen business ties between Israel and Morocco, the employment of Moroccans in Israeli high-tech companies from a distance is examined.

The organization's CEO, Avi Hasson, told Israel Today that the idea of ​​employing Moroccans in Israeli high-tech companies comes against the background of fears of human capital escaping from the country.

In this context, the conference focuses on developing collaborations around the global challenge of human capital shortages, ways to develop a technological environment, as well as in the areas of agricultural, water, food, climate and logistics technologies.

The goal is to bring together Moroccan and Israeli leaders from the public sector, large corporations and technology companies and help them find channels for cooperation for the benefit of the two economies, thus paving the way for promoting business activity and ties in the worlds of innovation between the two countries.

Dozens of Israelis take part in the delegation, along with their counterparts from Morocco - senior figures from the worlds of government, business, entrepreneurship, investors and opinion leaders in the relevant fields.

The conference opened with the blessing of President Yitzhak Herzog and is attended by key speakers including Mr. Andre Azoulay, Adviser to King Muhammad VI;

Orit Farkash HaCohen, Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology in Israel;

Rita Mazur, Minister of Digital Transformation in Morocco;

Riyad Mazur, Minister of Trade and Industry in Morocco;

David Govrin, Israeli Ambassador to Morocco;

And the organization's CEO Avi Hasson.

As part of the conference, Israeli and Moroccan bodies will sign a series of agreements, with an emphasis on solutions to the challenges of human capital in the two countries, along with agreements in the fields of agricultural technologies, water and food, climate technologies and logistics.

Among the Israeli startups that will attend the conference: N-Drip, a company for smart irrigation technology, which monitors growth and soil conditions and provides farmers with real-time irrigation recommendations via smartphones;

Tal-Ya, which develops technology that optimizes natural crop growth;

FruitSpec, which provides a platform for managing fruit crops for packing houses from the plantation level to marketing;

SupPlant, which has developed a solution that gives farmers smart weather-based irrigation recommendations and helps them deal with unexpected weather conditions;

SALI Crop, which has developed a groundbreaking method for growing seeds in saline soil;

And Agrinoze, which has developed an algorithm-based irrigation and fertilization system to manage optimal soil use.

President Yitzhak Herzog, who opened the conference with his greetings, stated that: "Together, Israel and Morocco, can develop innovative solutions that will lead to economic growth, improvement in our lives, and improved quality of life in both countries and thus lead to growth and peace in the Middle East and Africa."
