Those who are afraid of eating the traditional holiday can sleep peacefully • The company clarifies: "We have added a new machine" • Tnuva will complete an investment of NIS 170 million in dairies by the end of the year.

"Despite the sequence of holidays this year, we estimate that there will be no shortage of dairy products in the weeks following the new machine we added," says Anat Gross, CEO of the Tnuva Dairy Division, cautiously.

This is said against the background of the company's announcement, according to which it will complete by the end of the year an investment of about NIS 170 million in production lines in dairies, which began in 2021 and will support the dairy division's growth plan.

No need to panic.

The investments will be spread both on the core categories such as milk, cottage and yellow cheeses, which are an essential part of the food security in the State of Israel in daily nutrition, and in categories that have defined the new consumer trends, including culinary products, convenience, substitutes and indulgence products.

These are mainly controlled dairy products.

These days, a sixth line has started operating in several dairies on the streets, which will meet the demand in the field of milk in cartons.

According to Gross, "In recent years there has been an even higher demand for milk cartons, partly due to the transition from milk cartons to milk cartons, the natural increase in population and the corona epidemic, which caused many to stay in the country." This will allow Tnuva to continue producing the special milk drinks, which during periods of increased demand for milk and their lines have been converted to controlled milk production, especially during the holidays. "

Asked where the amount of butter production is, which has suffered from a very large shortage in recent years, Gross replied: "We went back to producing butter, not with all the power but the infrastructure will streamline production. The shortage at the time was due to lack of fat and not production problems.

Against the background of price increases by various food companies and against the background of delays in price increases by other companies, Tnuva refuses to address the question of whether the company intends to raise prices.

In the meantime, on the occasion of Shavuot, the company launched an operation that will last until June 6, in which a second product will be sold at a 50% discount.

The offer will be valid for a wide range of Tnuva's special and salty cheeses.

"Back to normal"

Michal Betzer, director of the marketing division at Tnuva's dairy division, commented on consumption trends in the dairy sector and said that "2019 was the 'normal' last year in the dairy market, which rolled in NIS 8.6 billion. "It seems to be declining, but it's back to normal. The numbers are still higher than in 2019."
