NEWS - This year, the jurors of the Italian Concours d'Elegance awarded first prize to the Bugatti 57 S cabriolet Vanvooren by A. Pisker.

Consecration for Andrew Pisker, the boss of the watchmaker A. Lange & Schöne.

This classic car enthusiast won the Best of Show at the highly prized Concours d'Élégance with his Bugatti 57 S with cabriolet bodywork by Vanvooren.

The first in a series of four Bugattis of the same type dressed as a convertible by the coachbuilder from Courbevoie, A. Pisker's example also competed in the “Art Deco period of automobile design” category.

The Bugatti succeeds in this competition to the Ferrari 250 GT Competition berlinetta long chassis of 1956 of Brian Ross rewarded last year.

A total of 51 vehicles telling the story of the automobile took part in the Concours d'Élégance born in 1929 and belonging for several years to the BMW group.

The Bavarian manufacturer took advantage of the 2022 edition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the birth of the Motorsport sports division.

This is how the public had the scoop on the first release of the new BMW M4 CSL, but also the BMW 7 Series and the exclusive Rolls-Royce Boat Tail, of which only three will be produced.

The 2022 edition will above all have been marked by the presence of the unique Aston Martin Bulldog.

This very square berlinetta concept dates back to the end of the 1970s. Presented on March 27, 1980, the Bulldog was initially to give birth to a series of less than 25 cars.

Finally, the cost of production but also the second oil shock would deter the builder from Newport Pagnell.

It's deserved: this supercar before its time won the Villa d'Este Coppa d'Oro, the Best of Show awarded by the public.

The other vehicle that generated a lot of interest during the weekend was the 1966 Ferrari 365 P Berlinetta Speciale Guida Centrale. From a 365 P2 chassis, coachbuilder Pininfarina had created a masterpiece, halfway between the world of racing and the elegant GT.

Two copies will be made of this vehicle, the main originality of which lies in the central driving and the three front seats.

As such, the 365 P Berlinetta Speciale can be considered the mother of the 1995 McLaren F1. The first, white, is the one that trod the gravel paths of Villa d'Este.

Revealed at the 1966 Paris Motor Show, the GT was then sold to Luigi Chinetti, the Ferrari importer in the United States.

It now belongs to Texan Roberto Quiroz.
