"In the middle of life with dementia" - Lecture and dementia course in Starnberg

Small games are good for activation.

That doesn't have to mean playing memory the way you used to know it.

Picking up the cards and looking at them is often enough as an impulse.

Starnberg - The Initiativkreis Dementia-Friendly Municipality in the district of Starnberg invites you to an information afternoon on Thursday, June 2nd entitled "In the middle of life with dementia". 

The program includes a lecture on the topic of "Living with dementia" by Aloisia Chiera, consultant to the management of the Starnberger Kliniken Nursing Department, with important background information and plenty of opportunities for questions.

In addition, the participants on the so-called dementia course can experience how people suffering from dementia feel.

The event in the Evangelisches Gemeindesaal in Starnberg is divided into two time blocks and each is limited to 20 participants.

Block 1 takes place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (starting with the lecture and then from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. the dementia course);

Block 2 starts at 4 p.m. with the course, followed by the lecture at 5 p.m.

Registrations with the name of the desired block are possible until May 30th by email to aloisia.chiera@starnberger-kliniken.de.

The Dementia-Friendly Municipality initiative was founded in 2018 and unites the Starnberg Senior Citizens’ Meeting, the Starnberg Clinic, the specialist departments for caring relatives West and East, the Ilse Kubaschewski Foundation, the Starnberg District Office, the Starnberg District Nursing Support Center and the Starnberg Social Psychiatric Service under one roof.
