"A few days ago
I was at the sea with Alba.
We were playing carousels on the beach. A little boy approached me and, in no uncertain terms, told me that
according to his mother Alba is sick and also ugly.
I was stunned, I didn't even know what to answer, because
my daughter is not sick and her disability does not invalidate her being a happy child
, as well as being objectively beautiful ".
It is the public outburst of a father on Facebook, not just any father, but the councilor for Welfare of the Municipality of Naples Luca Trapanese,
adoptive parent from Alba, 5 years old,
suffering from Down syndrome.
A testimony that also becomes a message of a political nature: "We should start thinking about the common good, starting from the idea that they are ALL our children, despite the differences, and that each of them has the right to HAPPINESS and not to the primacy of the best or of perfect ".
"
That child - observes Trapanese - thanks to his mother, represents a part of society hostile to diversity,
indifferent to pain, focused on achieving a perfection that does not exist".
