At the exhibition "Bergwerke" on the occasion of the 1200th birthday of the town, the replica of the church of St. John the Baptist by the artist Hans Panschar was the eye-catcher in the Berger Marstall.
Berg
- "We will send the work of art on a journey as part of the 1200-year celebration," Mayor Rupert Steigenberger recently announced in the municipal council.
"The church is always there as a symbol." At the exhibition in the Marstall, you could sit down in the church, write down your ideas, wishes and visions, and even say a prayer: a cross adorns the interior.
At the moment the work of art is in the wedding room in the town hall.
The next stop is the Oskar-Maria-Graf-School, which will dedicate its project week from May 23 to Berg's local history.
The Church of St. John the Baptist is mentioned in the document signed in Berg 1200 years ago.
