An assistant police officer, who regularly patrolled the 18th arrondissement, had gotten into the habit of… robbing the street vendors he controlled.

According to our information, this 27-year-old agent will be tried in June before the Paris Criminal Court, for having relieved at least six street vendors of their cash while he was searching them.

Sunday afternoon, on the Montmartre hill, a street vendor approaches a team of police.

He comes to denounce the theft he allegedly suffered the same morning, at the same place, perpetrated by… a policeman.

According to his account, it was during his check by the morning patrol, who had ordered him to leave the premises, that the agent would have subtracted the sum of 50 euros in cash from him.

Already known to the IGPN

An investigation was immediately opened.

The police officer in question is quickly identified, thanks to the description of the thief made by the declared victim.

It turns out that Kevin F., an assistant police officer assigned to the Police Rescue Brigade (BPS) of the 18th arrondissement of Paris, is already known to the IGPN, the police force.

He is indeed suspected of having already stolen from the district police station.

Kevin F. was immediately arrested and placed in police custody by the IGPN.

On him are discovered five 10 euro notes, corresponding to the amount stolen.

During his hearings, he would have admitted the facts.

On Monday evening, he was referred to the Paris public prosecutor's office, which served him with a summons to a hearing in June, before the Paris criminal court, for theft by a person holding public authority and embezzlement or embezzlement of goods contained in a public repository.

Pending the hearing, the assistant police officer was placed under judicial supervision, with a ban on practicing.

"Disciplinary follow-up is envisaged, after the rendering of the court decision concerning the questioning of the assistant policeman", indicates the Paris police headquarters.
