The Bavarian Farmers' Association (BBV) in Berglern has a new local chairman.

Josef Stampfl inherits Josef Eberl, who did not run again after 20 years at the top.

Deputy is Stefan Bauer.

Berglern district chairman Jakob Maier, who conducted the elections, was full of praise for the work of the outgoing local chairman.

The local BBV is one of the more active groups in the district.

There were ten eligible voters, which was quite a pleasing number for the size of Berglern.

Mayor Anton Scherer also thanked Eberl for the long and trusting cooperation that he had been able to experience in his capacity as mayor over the past two years.

Not least because of his sense of humor, Eberl has always been pleasantly noticed at town meetings.

He knows that himself and indicated that he will continue to take an active part in the events.

"It has to be fun, too," he said.

The two much younger farmers at the top made it clear in their own way that they still don't want to do without Eberl's advice.

When it came to the election of the assessors, Stampfl looked at his predecessor and said: "We need you." And so Eberl became an assessor on the board alongside Thomas Neumeier and Johann Aicher.

Eberl reacted with emotion to this nomination, was a little shy, but only a little.

Where the local association had the district chairman there, there were of course also clear announcements to politicians.

Maier did not omit the fact that, despite all protestations to the contrary, the use of land had accelerated further, nor did he omit the sometimes poor expertise in parts of politics: "There is still room for improvement." Maier remained consistently diplomatic, avoided any personal attack and repeated his familiar line: "We need to talk to everyone."

According to Maier, in order to limit the use of land, the pressure on the municipalities to finance themselves through trade taxes and thus to designate new commercial areas should be reduced.

As is well known, one of his favorite topics is a project very close to Berglern: "The northern bypass is something I would like to get rid of." Of course, the farmers also suffered from the high prices for diesel.

But the farmers also had positive comments, especially to the Berglern community.

These concerned the condition of the paths, which were kept in good condition by the municipality - it came from several participants at the same time.

Of course, the outgoing chairman Eberl could not avoid giving a review of the activities praised by Scherer.

In his 20 years at the head of the local association, a different information trip was actually undertaken every year.

The outgoing mayor listed a total of 233 round tables that he had organized.

Every year we took part in the village championships of stick shooters.

Field inspections would have taken place and 13 times even a tavern singing.

The farmers' association was also always involved in the clean landscape campaign.

This made the size of the footsteps that Eberl's successor is following more than clear.
