In Lüdenscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia, a dispute at a fair ended fatally.
A youth is now in custody.
Update from May 24, 6:10 p.m .:
A young person is now in custody because he is suspected of having fired a fatal shot at a 40-year-old at a fair in Lüdenscheid.
The teenager is apparently facing charges of first degree manslaughter.
According to the public prosecutor's office in Hagen, the suspect lives in Lüdenscheid.
Authorities did not provide information about the suspect's age.

The investigators caught a man after the fatal shot at a 40-year-old at a fair in Lüdenscheid.
According to a joint statement from the police and the public prosecutor's office, special forces arrested the suspect in Lüdenscheid and searched his apartment.
The investigators did not want to comment on further details, age and backgrounds in the evening.

Lüdenscheid - A bystander was shot dead in a dispute between a group of young people and a man and his son.
After the fatal shot at a 40-year-old at a fair in Lüdenscheid, the homicide squad of the Hagen police hopes to track down the shooter with a public search.
The public prosecutor's office in Hagen announced on Monday (May 23) that video material was available showing the people involved.
The authorities wanted to publish this.
The investigations continued, stressed the responsible public prosecutor.
The homicide commission has already heard several witnesses.
However, there are currently no specific suspects.

The 40-year-old was standing at the fair in the northwest of the Sauerland on Saturday evening (May 21) at the exit of the festival area when the shots were fired.
Previously, there had been an argument between a 16-year-old and a group of six at the fair.
When the teenager and his father wanted to confront the group, they fled.

The 40-year-old victim was hit.
Police and prosecutors are now looking for information about the young men, who are estimated to be between 16 and 20 years old.
The victim, who succumbed to his injuries in hospital, is believed to have had no connection to the group of militants.
