A complaint against X with civil action for "kidnapping" and "sequestration" was filed with the public prosecutor of Grenoble, Eric Vaillant, by Maître Bernard Boulloud, the lawyer for the family of the disappeared.
The magistrate also specifies that a judicial investigation will be opened.

The resumption of investigations in this file, 37 years old, comes after the confessions, at the beginning of May, of Yves Chatain, concerning the disappearance of Marie-Thérèse Bonfanti on May 22, 1986. The man, now 56 years old, has admitted to having strangled the young woman of 25 years while she was distributing newspapers in front of his home, near Pontcharra station.
He has since been indicted for "kidnapping", "forcible confinement" and "murder" and remanded in custody.

For those close to Marie-Ange Billoud, very few doubts now remain as to Yves Chatain's involvement in the disappearance of the 19-year-old young woman, a year earlier, on May 9, 1985, in the same area of Pontcharra. .
Thirty years ago, Marie-Ange's mother had already accused him.
He immediately sued her for defamation.
She had been sentenced at first instance to fifteen days in prison, then on appeal to a fine of 6,000 francs.
