Bolivia deploys epidemiological surveillance

Bolivia, meanwhile, activated epidemiological surveillance for monkeypox.

At a press conference this Monday, Health Minister Jeyson Auza confirmed that although there have been no cases of this disease in the country, the health authorities deployed epidemiological surveillance at the national level.

"Given the outbreak of diagnosed and confirmed cases in Spain, Portugal and other European countries, we have instructed to carry out epidemiological surveillance and to be attentive to whether any suspected case of this disease occurs in our country," Auza said.

He also recalled the importance of following vaccination schedules not only for covid-19 but for other diseases, including smallpox.
