The weather is ideal, visitors and showmen are happy, the mood is peaceful: this is how the ten-day Spring Festival in Erding can be summed up.

Erding - It was a premiere - without any corona restrictions.

In any case, organizer Tobias Martl draws a consistently positive balance and hopes - like his fellow showmen - for a continuation next year.

"People accepted the festival well and felt comfortable," emphasized Martl on Monday, when he was already busy dismantling.

He reports of a mixed audience and a large number of families who came.

The spring festival managed without a beer tent and for this reason alone differs from the conventional folk festivals, including the autumn festival in Erding.

A large beer garden with 1200 seats was set up for this.

Half, no beer was served.

You needed a little patience when queuing at the drinks bar.

Martl assumes around 40,000 visitors in the past ten days and explains that there have been no problems: "We are not a drinking party.

We didn't have any police operations, only four or five medical operations - because of the heat."

Especially on Thursday and Friday, the temperatures were hot like midsummer and muggy and warm, so that the visitors only came to the fairground in the evening.

In the afternoon it was less busy.

On the other hand, the two weekends and the family day on Wednesday were very well attended.

Martl reports from the showman side: "Everyone is satisfied 95 percent." A few, like the pizza baker, would have liked more feedback.

After dismantling, Martl drives on with his chocolate fruits to festivals in Krailing, Pforzheim and Olching.

One hope accompanies him, namely "that there will be regular spring festivals in Erding in the future".

The follow-up discussion with the city officials is still pending.

Until then, there will still be a lot of celebrations in Erding, for example the Old Town Festival on the first weekend in July, the Sinnflut Festival (July 21 to 31) and the Autumn Festival, which will start on August 26 and last until September 4.
