An ISIS operative in the United States planned to assassinate the 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush.
Bush, and even conducted an operation to gather intelligence ahead of the move, which also included recruiting assistants from abroad.
According to a Forbes magazine revelation on Tuesday, the terrorist planned to recruit aides by smuggling them from Mexico to Texas and even traveled to the city of Dallas to videotape the area where Bush lives.
In addition, he also photographed the area of the "Bush Institute" established by the former president.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation came up with the plan after it managed to recruit two secret sources and after it began monitoring its "WhatsApp" account.
In his correspondence with FBI sources he wrote that he was working on the assassination of Bush because he was allegedly responsible for killing masses of Iraqis due to the invasion of the country in 2003. The revelation also shows how much the FBI can overcome WhatsApp defense mechanisms.
According to court documents, the terrorist has been in the U.S. since 2020 and sought asylum as an immigrant for humanitarian reasons.
In his correspondence with the sources he tried to use them to obtain fake police badges so that he could approach the former president's house and tried to find out how people could be smuggled out of the US after the assassination.
He also formulated a plan to assassinate an Iraqi general who helped the Americans during the invasion he believes he moved to the U.S. under a false identity. He planned to bring at least 7 more people to the U.S. to carry out the assassination.
