Technically, the corona vaccination certificates of the EU are only “stable” for one year.

Whether digital or analog: Freising's pharmacy spokeswoman explains what to do if the corona vaccination certificate is now slowly expiring.

Freising's pharmacy spokeswoman Ingrid Kaiser explains what needs to be done - and what citizens with paper proof have to consider.

Play it safe on vacation

"Actually, it's very simple, you just have to know," says Kaiser.

The good news for everyone who has digitized their vaccination record: All you have to do is update the app.

"You get a message in good time, that's no problem at all."

An exception should be made if you are on vacation at this time.

Although most countries no longer require proof of vaccination upon entry, one can play it safe, says the owner of the Engel pharmacy in Lerchenfeld.

"So that there are no nasty surprises, you can go to the pharmacy before you leave and have it checked." If in doubt, you will receive an updated certificate in printed form.

Keyword printed out: If you only have your vaccination certificate on paper, you usually don't even know how long it will be valid for.

But even that isn't a problem, emphasizes Kaiser: "You can simply drop by the pharmacy and they'll check there." If the certificate expires soon, a new one will be issued.

"Of course you don't have to pay anything for it."

Even if the topic of corona vaccination is no longer very present at the moment: “No one knows whether and how this will change again.

And before you go on holiday and are then surprised by an inspection, you are on the safe side if you take care of it in good time.”
