The Kochler CSU is taking up one of its issues from the election campaign and is campaigning for the RVO bus in the community to also drive to the Alte Straße/Am Sonnenstein areas in the future.

There will be a one-year test phase.

Kochel am See – Florian Lantenhammer from the CSU faction said that this area has not yet been connected to the bus line.

"Especially older people or people without a driver's license or car have to walk a not inconsiderable distance of up to two kilometers before they reach a public transport stop, the train station or shopping possibilities." The Alte Straße/Am Sonnenstein area is "a heavily populated area".

It is desirable to offer more people an alternative to the car.

First of all, only required stops

For example, a bus from the train station could open up the area of Kalmbachstrasse, Alte Strasse, Am Sonnenstein and Am Lainbach.

According to Lantenhammer, it would be desirable to have trips early in the morning, midday and late in the afternoon, but: "The exact travel times and the location of the bus stop depend primarily on the availability of the buses and the requirements." Details have to be discussed with the RVO.

According to Lantenhammer, the test phase should clarify whether the need really exists.

However, it should be "created in the city in accordance with the local transport plan" and "not be developed as a singular concept with immense costs".

In addition, during the test phase, only makeshift stops should be used so that the municipality “would incur no or only very manageable costs”.

In a next step, a better connection from Altjoch could then be envisaged.

Discussions with the RVO

The municipal councils liked the idea in principle and gave it the green light.

With regard to the costs, citizens have to pay the usual ticket tariff for a trip, said Mayor Thomas Holz (CSU) when asked by Rosi Marksteiner (middle).

The feasibility of the application is "not excluded", commented Holz on the proposal from his own group.

Now there are talks with the RVO.
