Israel has gifted the cessation of Hamas' terrorist activities in Turkey, as a condition for improving ties between the two countries.

The demand was raised in a dialogue that took place between the two countries a week and a half ago in Ankara, and will be presented at meetings to be held tomorrow (Wednesday) in the presence of the Turkish Foreign Minister, Balut Chavushulu, who is visiting Israel.

This is the first visit of a Turkish foreigner to Israel since 2007 and it takes place as part of the long process of warming relations that began more than a year ago.

Israel notes a series of positive steps taken by Turkey, such as allowing Israel to participate in NATO exercises, lowering the tone on the Palestinian issue and the phone calls that Erdogan initiated to President Herzog, and then the president's visit to Ankara.

In Israel, the ideological connection that exists between Erdogan's party and Hamas is recognized as a subsidiary of the Brotherhood with the Muslims, and therefore the chances of a complete cessation of Hamas activity in Turkey are slim.

Therefore, the Israeli demand focuses on the types of Hamas activity in Turkey that endanger the lives of Israelis.

Jerusalem's position is that all activities that endanger Israelis taking place in Turkey must be stopped, and this is a critical milestone for the continuation of the process of improving relations between the two countries.

Israel's intelligence system will pass on to the Turkish side information about violent activity planned from its land against Israelis in anticipation that the security services in the country will take care of it.

Although Israel is satisfied with the trend of improving relations, the intention is to continue to advance with the Turks with great caution, among other things out of fear that Erdogan's provocative statement will stall the process.

At this stage there is no agreement on the return of the ambassadors and Israel also clarifies that it will in no way reduce the alliance it has developed with Greece and Cyprus.

Another Israeli demand is to refrain from verbal and anti-Semitic attacks by the President of Turkey Israel.

The Turkish Foreign Minister will meet during the visit with his Israeli counterpart, Yair Lapid, and the two will make a joint statement to the media.

In the talks themselves, the parties also intend to address the similar interests of the two countries regarding Syria and Iran, the development of tourism trade ties and more.

Chabushulu will pay an official visit to Yad Vashem in the morning and ascend the Temple Mount in the afternoon, for what is defined as a private visit, without the presence of Israel's security forces.
