Spokesman for the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, Ipek Smadyarov, announced that the next meeting of talks on Syria in the (Atana) format will be held in the capital, Nur-Sultan, in mid-June.
Smadyarov told reporters on the sidelines of a government meeting today in Nur-Sultan: "The eighteenth meeting of talks on Syria in the Astana format will be held between the 14th and 16th of next June... The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent invitations to all the guarantor countries in addition to the other participants... We are waiting for confirmation. of the parties invited about participation.
The last meeting of the Astana formula was held in the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan, last December.
So far, seventeen meetings of the Astana formula have been held, two of which took place in the Russian resort of Sochi on the Black Sea, all of which affirmed their strong commitment to Syria's sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity.
