Kretschmann "surprised" by Strobl's actions

Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann was irritated by the actions of the top data protection officer in the affair surrounding Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU).

According to Strobl, data protection officer Stefan Brink did not speak to the Ministry of the Interior for an expert opinion.

"That surprises me," said the Green politician on Tuesday in Stuttgart.

Stuttgart - Kretschmann did not want to comment on the assessment of the data protection officer that Strobl had violated the law by passing on a letter from the lawyer of a high-ranking police officer.

"I do not have the letter." Although the report was received by the State Ministry on Monday evening, they had not yet had time to examine it.

According to the report, the minister clearly broke the law by forwarding the lawyer's letter to a journalist.

The result is a "data protection supervisory test procedure" that the SPD Brink had requested.

Brink has now also opened a regulatory procedure in the matter.

Strobl is under pressure because of the affair.

The public prosecutor's office is investigating against the deputy head of government, among other things, on suspicion of prohibited communication about court hearings.
