The Ministry of State Security of the Lugansk People's Republic revealed that an employee of the OSCE mission had collected information for the benefit of US intelligence services.
The Russia Today website quoted the ministry as saying in a statement today that in the context of the activities carried out by the security agencies of the Lugansk People’s Republic, the facts were revealed that the US intelligence services used the representative of the Lugansk team of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to collect intelligence on popular combat units of the Lugansk People's Republic and documented.
The statement indicated that the deputy head of the OSCE mission, American citizen George Levitsky, secretly communicated with a local resident in Lugansk, who worked as a translator, prepared and provided information to Levitsky about the 2nd Army Corps of the People's Forces of the Republic, which is considered a disclosure of state secrets.
The statement added that the local citizen obtained the data by using the soldiers of the People's Units of the Lugansk Republic and monitoring during the period of regular patrols of the Line of Contact as part of the mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, announcing the opening of a criminal case against the translator under the article of high treason.
On the 22nd of last month, the Ministry of State Security in Lugansk announced the detention of an employee of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe mission and his confession of spying for foreign intelligence.
