This afternoon, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Miqdad, received a phone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, during which they discussed issues of common interest and exchanged views on a number of issues in the region.
During the call, they also discussed means of cooperation between the two countries, as it was emphasized the continuation of coordination and organized consultation regarding developments in the region and regional and international developments.
Minister Miqdad expressed satisfaction with the development of relations between Syria and Iran and the importance of pushing them in the political, economic and scientific fields, expressing Syria's appreciation for Iran's continuous support for it.
In turn, Abdullahian stressed the depth of the strategic relations between Syria and Iran, and reiterated his country's support for Syria and its people and its continuation of providing the necessary assistance to overcome the negative effects of the Western coercive measures imposed on it, stressing that Syria and Iran stand in one trench in the face of Western plans aimed at undermining the security and stability of the region.
The two ministers also discussed, during the call, the climatic conditions that dominate the region and cause sand storms in a number of its countries, including eastern Syria, Iraq, Iran and the Gulf region, and have disrupted life and public facilities in some of these countries. The importance of continuing coordination and consultation to discuss ways to deal with these phenomena was emphasized. and take the necessary measures to confront it.
