The nine-euro ticket is available, is valid from June 1st - and could have a positive impact in the Fürstenfeldbruck district in particular.

At least that's what they say in the staff department for local public transport in the district office.

Fürstenfeldbruck - Again and again it is criticized that the nine-euro ticket is of little use if the offer for buses and trains is sparse, i.e. if the bus only stops in the village once a month and then also goes in the wrong direction.

This is not the case in the district of Fürstenfeldbruck.

The largest expansion of local public transport in the region has just taken place.

In other words: there are more buses than ever before - so the offer is there.

positive effect?

Hermann Seifert, public transport expert in the district office, therefore believes that the nine-euro ticket could have a positive effect.

He hopes that the ticket may be able to win back passengers who were lost in the Corona crisis.

In fact, there is still room for improvement.

"We have reached about 70 to 80 percent of the capacity utilization before the pandemic," says Seifert.

He also believes in the opportunity to be able to convince really new passengers of public transport.

Logic: If someone simply tries out local transport because of the cheaper tickets and has good experiences, this could definitely be an incentive to leave the car at home in the future.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular FFB newsletter.)

All in all, the billing mode in the background for the nine-euro ticket is of course quite complicated.

To put it simply, the MVV and thus also the district to which it belongs will be replaced by federal rescue funds from the 2019 status.

It would only be stupid if so many people switched to buses and trains because of the nine-euro ticket that there was additional income compared to 2019.

They would then of course be gone, although this scenario must be considered unlikely.

In this context, Seifert also refers to the ÖNPV taster day on September 11, where you can drive for free.

Few tourist destinations in the bus network

Of course, Seifert is familiar with the debate surrounding the question of whether it would not be better to put federal funds into expanding public transport.

However, he emphasizes that an expansion will take years.

Therefore he is of the opinion: You should do one thing without neglecting the other.

OPNV expert Seifert does not expect any capacity bottlenecks especially for the Bruck region because of the nine-euro ticket.

Especially since there are fewer lines that are highly frequented by tourists.

The Pucher Meer leisure area can also be reached by bus (tip: line 839), despite the Neulindach bypass being closed.

There is also currently enough free capacity on the line to Starnberg.

Overall, the rules that apply across the MVV apply to the nine-euro ticket in the Bruck district.

The call taxi is also included in the offer.

Seifert is convinced: For Bruck in particular, the ticket brings more benefits than harm.
