His new film,

The Natural History of Destruction

, a documentary about the Allied bombing of German cities at the end of World War II, resonates strikingly with the conflict in Ukraine.

It is also and above all a punchy film from which you come out completely groggy.

A deluge of fire

Made from archive images, and without any commentary, this very immersive film plunges the viewer into the heart of Germany during the war years.
