The technical workshop at the Martyr Suleiman Abdul-Din Industrial High School in Sweida managed to repair nine submersible pumps for wells belonging to the Drinking Water Corporation in the governorate.
The Assistant Director of Education for Vocational and Technical Education in As-Suwayda, Engineer Bassam Hammoud Awwad, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the repair of the nine pumps came after preparing a special workshop for that from secondary cadres. its engines.
Awad indicated that the workshop can repair between 5 to 11 submersible pumps in the first phase, up to the repair of 20 submersibles on a monthly basis, pointing out that the creation of this workshop comes in the context of implementing Law No. 38 of 2021 on vocational secondary education and transforming vocational high schools into production centers and workshops It raises the level of graduates, both scientifically and practically, in a way that meets the needs of the labor market and reduces the burdens and costs on institutions.
It is noteworthy that the Public Establishment for Drinking Water in As-Suwayda needs to repair about 40 submersible pumps per month, on average, as it provided preferential benefits to the secondary workshop, such as transportation and securing financial advances to purchase the primary materials needed for repair, while providing the required facilities in addition to technical supervision.
