The Russian Defense Ministry announced that more than 8.5 million people suffer from hunger in the areas under the control of the regime in Kyiv, and that the humanitarian situation is becoming more serious.

The Russia Today website quoted the head of the Russian Defense Administration Center, Lieutenant-General Mikhail Mizintsev, as saying that the humanitarian situation in the areas controlled by the Kyiv authorities is rapidly deteriorating and approaching seriousness, noting that “according to the United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF, 7.8 million people suffer from hunger in Ukraine.” Also, 22.8 percent of children under the age of five suffer from malnutrition.

Mizintsev added: “Kyiv continues to work to please the West despite the lack of food and the threat of a food crisis, and that Western countries, which are hypocritical in declaring humanitarian support, seek to export grain from Ukraine as soon as possible through the so-called solidarity corridors in which the European Union is engaged and do not care at all about what It will happen in the country, denouncing the continuation of Western hysteria and false accusations against Russia about creating a food crisis in the world.”

On the other hand, Mizintsev announced that the Russian Defense Ministry will open a humanitarian corridor towards the Black Sea from eight in the morning Moscow time on May 25 for the safe exit of foreign ships from the port of Mariupol, noting that “as a result of the set of measures taken by the Russian Navy, the danger of mines has been eliminated. In the water area of ​​the port of Mariupol, measures are being taken to restore the port’s infrastructure.”

Mizintsev pointed out that "the Russian armed forces open daily a humanitarian sea corridor towards the southwest of the territorial waters of Ukraine," revealing that 5 foreign ships have left the port of Mariupol, from which it was previously impossible to leave due to mines and the threat of shelling, stressing that the danger of mines has been removed in the waters of the port. Mariupol thanks to the actions carried out by the forces of the Russian war fleet.

Mizintsev explained that work is underway to rebuild the port's infrastructure and there are 70 ships from 16 countries still stuck in 6 Ukrainian ports.

Mizintsev warned that the Kyiv authorities continue to evade in every possible way from interacting with representatives of foreign countries and ship-owning companies in solving the problem of ensuring the safe exit of detained ships.

Earlier today, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the end of the operation to clear the mines planted by the Kyiv regime forces in the port of Mariupol, after the city was completely liberated from Ukrainian forces and Nazi extremists.
