Severe weather in Bavaria: floods, damage to property and injuries in the Ostallgäu

Filled cellars, injured people and fallen trees: After heavy rain and hail in and around Füssen, numerous emergency services were on the move in the Ostallgäu
Füssen – On Monday evening there was heavy rain and hail in Füssen.
The operations center of the police headquarters in Swabia South/West reports a total of 27 operations between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
"In particular, flooded basements and a few fallen trees kept the fire brigade and police busy," says a press release.
Fire brigades, municipal building yards and police forces worked together to get the effects of the weather in Ostallgäu under control.
The figures for the missions are not final.

Hailstorms and heavy rain were concentrated in the Füssen area.
Water ran into the underground car park of a hotel on Bahnhofstrasse and into the basements of residential and commercial buildings.
Trees also fell and construction fences were blown down.
In some cases, they disrupted road traffic.
For example in Kempten, Kaufbeuren, Marktoberdorf, Illertissen and Lindau.
In Immenstadt, the storm brought down a six-meter-tall tree that struck a parked car.
There was minor damage.

The storm also caused traffic accidents.
In Füssen, a 68-year-old and her 71-year-old husband were slightly injured.
The driver of a taxi lost control of the vehicle on the A7 near Illertissen due to aquaplaning.
The car slid about 60 meters through an adjacent meadow until it came to a stop.
According to the police, the taxi suffered property damage of around 11,000 euros.
Already on Saturday, a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car on state road 2520 near Nesselwang.
